01Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text). If you subscribe, our payment processor collects your payment details — we do not store your full card number.

02Information from connecting your Tesla

When you connect your vehicle through Tesla's official authorization flow, we receive and store an access token that lets VentMode send window commands on your behalf. We never receive or store your Tesla password. To operate the service we also store vehicle information such as your selected vehicle identifier (VIN), vehicle and window state, and configuration you set — including an approximate location (for example, a ZIP code) used to look up local weather.

03Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect standard technical and usage data through analytics — such as pages viewed, general device and browser information, and interactions with the site. We use this to understand how the service is used and to improve it. If you enable push notifications, we store the subscription information your browser provides so we can send you alerts.

• To process subscriptions and payments.

05Third-party services we use

VentMode relies on trusted third-party providers to deliver the service, and some of your information is processed by them under their own privacy policies:

• Tesla — to authorize access to and send commands to your vehicle.
• Stripe — to process subscription payments.
• A weather-data provider (Open-Meteo) — to determine local conditions from your approximate location.
• Cloud hosting and data storage providers — to run the service and store your data.
• An email provider — to send account and service emails.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads — for usage analytics and advertising measurement.

06How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers above as needed to operate VentMode, when required by law or to protect our rights, and in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition). Service providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us.

07Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you disconnect your Tesla, we stop being able to control your vehicle; you can also revoke VentMode's access from your Tesla account at any time. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

08Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Your password is stored only as a salted bcrypt hash, never in plain text. All traffic between your browser and VentMode is encrypted in transit using TLS. Sensitive vehicle-access credentials — the Tesla access and refresh tokens that let VentMode operate your car — are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption, so they are not readable directly from our data store. Commands sent to your vehicle are additionally signed end-to-end through Tesla's Vehicle Command Protocol. We also limit access to stored data and rate-limit sensitive actions to guard against abuse.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Your choices and rights

You can update your account details, disconnect your vehicle, disable push notifications, and cancel your subscription at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the address on the VentMode website. You can also opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings.

10Children

VentMode is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of VentMode after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
